Elgabry Engineering Inc. is a British Columbia incorporated company located in North Vancouver, BC, Canada. It was established in May 2014 by Adel A. Elgabry, Ph.D., P.Eng., P.E. who acts as its President and Principal Engineer.




Dr. Elgabry has acquired 24 years of professional experience practicing Structural Engineering specializing in Design and Construction of Reinforced and Post Tensioned Concrete Bridges. Dr. Elgabry practices Structural Engineering as a sole practitioner.




Prior to founding Elgabry Engineering Inc. in May 2014, Dr. Elgabry was employed as a Bridge Engineer with Buckland & Taylor - COWI for 19 years from 1995 to 2014; his last position was Chief Specialist and Head of Section. He worked in several projects involving many aspects of Bridge Engineering including Concrete Design and Analysis, Independent Review, Seismic Retrofit, Evaluation, Rehabilitation, Inspection, Construction Services and Quality Management.



Dr. Elgabry was employed from 1993 to 1995 with Monenco AGRA Inc. as a Member of the Design Team for the Hibernia Offshore Concrete Gravity Base Structure.



Dr. Elgabry's 24 years of professional experience include contributions to the following Major Projects:

  • St. Croix River Crossing - Minnesota - USA
  • Shaikh Zayed Bridge - Abu Dhabi - UAE
  • Harilaos Trikoupis (Rion-Antirion) Bridge - Greece
  • Confederation Bridge - PEI - Canada
  • Hibernia Offshore Gravity Base Structure - NL - Canada



Dr. Elgabry is a registered P.Eng. in British Columbia and Alberta. He is a registered P.E. in Washington and California.

Member of CSA-S6 Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC) Technical Subcommittee Section 5-Methods of Analysis.

Member of CSCE, SEABC, IABSE, AISC, PCI, ACI and ASBI.

He is serving as a reviewer for ACI Structural Journal.



Dr. Elgabry is the author of seven technical papers in Structural Engineering. He holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Civil Engineering and a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering.
