It was established in May 2014 by Adel A. Elgabry, Ph.D., P.Eng., P.E., S.E. who acts as its President and Principal Engineer.
Dr. Elgabry has acquired 20+ years of professional experience practicing Structural Engineering specializing in Design, Construction, and Seismic Retrofit of Reinforced and Post Tensioned Concrete Bridges. Professional experience includes Post Tensioned Concrete Special Structures.
Dr. Elgabry practices Structural Engineering as a Sole Practitioner, providing professional services within a team or independently.
Dr. Elgabry is a current member of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC), CSA-S6, Technical Subcommittee - Section 5 - Methods of Analysis (2015 to Present).
Dr. Elgabry as a Sole Practitioner at Elgabry Engineering Inc. provided professional structural engineering services to COWI North America Inc. (2021-2022), V+M Structural Design Inc. (2020 and 2025), HATCH Corporation (2019), and OPUS Stewart Weir Ltd. (2015-2016).
Prior to founding Elgabry Engineering Inc. in May 2014, Dr. Elgabry was employed as a Bridge Engineer at Buckland & Taylor - COWI (1995 to 2014); his last position was Chief Specialist - Head of Section. He worked in several projects involving many aspects of Bridge Engineering.
Dr. Elgabry was employed at Monenco AGRA Inc. (1993 to 1995) as a Member of the Design Team for the Hibernia Offshore Concrete Gravity Base Structure.

He served as a reviewer for ACI Structural Journal and ACI Special Publications.
Dr. Elgabry is the author of several technical papers in Structural Engineering. He holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Civil Engineering and a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering.
